Eligibility
- Aged 50 or over
- Holding a non-immigrant visa
- Health insurance may be required (always for O-A visas)
Financial options
- 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account for at least 2 months before you apply and 3 months after approval; after that it can't drop below 400,000 THB.
- Or income of at least 65,000 THB a month.
- Or a combination of income and deposits totalling 800,000 THB a year.
Timing
Because the deposit must be 'seasoned' for 2 months, plan at least 3 months ahead of your permission-to-stay date. Most offices accept the application from about 30 days before expiry.
