The basics
- 5-year multiple-entry visa for remote workers, freelancers and people doing approved 'soft power' activities.
- Up to 180 days per entry, extendable once by 180 days at immigration (1,900 THB).
- Leaving and re-entering gives a fresh 180 days.
- Requires proof of funds of 500,000 THB; apply online through the Thai e-Visa system from outside Thailand.
Things DTV holders forget
- 90-day reports still apply if you stay more than 90 days in a row.
- Spending 180+ days in Thailand in a calendar year makes you a Thai tax resident, and foreign income you bring into Thailand can then be taxable.
- Your landlord still needs to file TM30 for you.
